CMRG at NED University of Engineering & Technology was established with the vision to strengthen the research related to construction materials in all aspects and to provide services to the construction industry to overcome issues related to different construction materials. Since its inception in 2009, CMRG has been active in developing knowledge regarding construction materials with a view for application in civil infrastructure.

The First National Workshop was held in November 2010 which was attended by over 100 professionals of the construction industry representing the academia, government officials, consulting firms, contractors, materials manufactures and suppliers and aggregate industry. Since the First National Workshop, three more successful and well attended National Workshop were held in 2011, 2013 and 2014 with the objectives to highlight some of the work accomplished, in progress and share industry perspectives.
